Mayor Opens Unique Exhibition
Today (Jan 12th, 2012) saw the opening of my The Living Gallery by The Mayor of Gateshead, Cllr Joe Mitchinson in Saltwell Towers.
The children involved with the Living Gallery attended, alongside parents and current Year 6 pupils of St Peter’s RC Primary School.
What an incredible vibe the opening had.
I was amazed at how involved the children became at experiencing the exhibition. The space truly lent itself to the pictures, bringing the outside of the park into the building. With the subjects there too, re living the Living Gallery, it created a lively positive atmosphere.
One parents commented on how the original photograph (now owned by the children) is
…in pride of place at home and we have seen a gain in his confidence and self-belief.
The exhibition remains on view till February 10th. Free admission.
